Uganda STM: Laughing With Me or At Me? Dancing in Kishanje.
After breakfast and devotions/prayer time, we hopped into the vans and headed about an hour away to the Village of Kishanje, where Hope Primary School is located. Tina and I have one sponsored child there, age 10, named Dalton.
Dalton and I got to spend some extended time together today, and it was really fun! He is still quiet and shy, but he did loosen up with me after some time. His English has improved significantly since last year, and, in fact, he said that English is his favorite subject in school. He is much taller and growing fast! No wonder. He went back for a second plate of food at lunch.
Generally, when we visit any school, the children have an assembly where they sing and dance for us and often “with us”. I danced with Dalton during the morning assembly. You see, I try to do some silly things to get the kids laughing. In fact, I got their grandparents and guardians who were in attendance laughing as well.
Of course, I was laughing too. Only problem…I wonder…were they all laughing with me, or at me? Whatever. It makes it fun!
